Bev's athletic physique reflects her inner strength, but she is also extraordinarily sensitive to her students needs, almost like her 7th sense, with a sincerely kind and calming approach. Words from Bev below...

Some friends had been recommending yoga to me for a while, I was keen to start but for some reason reluctant at the same time! I was used to hard core sport, pushing myself to my limit and beyond... I wasn't sure that yoga would be for me, although after rowing for over 25 years, 5 of which as a full time international athlete, my body was certainly in need of it and I knew it, plus I wasn't getting any younger! So I tried the two week trial at The House of Yoga in Putney. I loved it straight away, initially because if was a style of yoga where I could work hard, build up a sweat and get fit and strong, however, over the years it has become so much more than that. I can now find a balance in my practice and cannot believe how I have changed as a person, no longer needing to beat myself up about anything and everything. A much calmer more contented person without loosing my love of a challenge!

I've been coaching rowing for 17 years now and still enjoy passing on my knowledge of the sport. I have a passion for teaching good effective and efficient movement patterns engaging the right muscles to help anyone achieve the most out of their rowing or yoga. Having a physiotherapy background I love that through the practice of yoga, you can help realign the body activating muscles, particularly the postural muscles that are so important in both injury rehabilitation and prevention. With this focus on good alignment in practice over time the body can slowly but surely unravel the bad postures and physical habits formed over the years. I love graceful but strong physical movement. Top end athletes make movement look effortless, yoga completely sums this up for me. It is strong, focused, powerful and graceful all at once.
